KEFALONIA

In the Ionian Sea, surrounded by other islands worth visiting, stands grand Kefalonia. Much photographed, much talked about, much loved, by Greeks and foreigners alike. Not just because of Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, the 2001 film that drew the whole world to the island, but because of its sheer beauty and picturesque villages. It carries a rich history in cultural tradition. It’s the biggest Ionian Island, where the green of its mountains blend with the blue of the water making it a beloved destination. Pine, cypress and olive trees cover Mt. Ainos' peak, while at its foot you’ll come across vineyards where the popular Kefalonian Robola wine variety is produced.

In the northern of Kefalonia, our personal favorite we never miss to visit: Fiskardo. The colorful fishing village, houses the only remaining Venetian buildings on Kefalonia, who survived the earthquake of ‘53. Get lost in endless strolls through the cosy little streets, beaming with shops, bars and restaurants.
